DISCLAIMER:- On 05/06/2018, a young man named MD Hanif Khan from Bangladesh was summoned as an accused in a sexual assault case and arrested by Bangladesh's law enforcement (police) from Mirpur 10. According to the police, on 21/04/2018, they received an allegation of rape involving a married woman named Shefi Akter in Mirpur 10.
The police stated that the victim’s family and her husband filed a written complaint at the police station, accusing MD Hanif Khan as the main perpetrator. On the same night, Hanif was arrested from a local market in Mirpur and taken to jail for confession. During interrogation, Hanif confessed to assaulting Shefi Akter due to prior animosity.
On 05/06/2018, the lower court of Bangladesh sentenced Hanif to 3 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of 500,000 Bangladeshi Taka.
